Fun fact: Shit like this actually happened in Soviet Russia, and still does. However, the cops in this series were actually inspired by the MPD of the late 90's. That's one of the many of the reasons I left Minneapolis around the turn of the century, and have zero desire to ever move back. Surprised? Probably not.
I actually have cops on my mother's side of the family, so by must disagree with ACAB. However, the drug war in the, racism and government's hard-on for treating poor/”lower" class people like garbage creates a system that often churns out more rubbish than it supposedly cleans up. There's a reason why during the Cerro Maravilla hearings in Puerto Rico, my grandfather literally was the only high-ranking member of the police force there who didn't go to federal prison for being a corrupt asshole.
From what I understand, he apparently wasn't happy with being asked to snitch on my mom for being involved in the Puerto Rican Independence movement, and he refused on the basis that people have the right to protest. As a medicine man, he had this thing called honor that apparently was so sorely lacking in the PD there. After all, absolute power corrupts absolutely, so the chance that a member of the force is going to be corrupted, is unreasonably high.
Projection is one hell of a drug. And yes, hypocrisy is definitely one of Zoya's defining traits.
Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy your hard copies and the little surprises. And please, if you can follow along with us. I really adore your comments.
